Dine-in Night, Friday May 18th

Members dined elegantly on one of Phatt Duck's signature dishes, crispy skin Thirlmere duck breast with red wine sauce, lamb shanks with polenta or South Coast grilled white fish.
Places at table were eagerly sought, selling out soon after the bookings opened.
Sec/Manager, Kevin Kenny reports that more dinners which will accommodate greater numbers are being planned and may be designed around various themes.
The new luncheon menu is being well received with minor tweaks as Phatt Duck settles in and Members adjust to the change.

Thank you to Kevin Burke for the photos. Click here to view the photos, of this enjoyable evening.

Geoffrey Hammond's repertoire of Trivia questions,
escoteric obscure, tricky - always entertaining!

How about this one - Who is the current Duke of Normandy and Lord of Mann?
Brows were furrowed.  We all knew that it was Queen Elizabeth 2nd, didn't we!
New challenges were experienced with the debut of Cypher + who swept the pool, handsomely.  Legacy romped into second place again.  Intriguingly 4th equal place was contested by Clueless on one hand and Superstars on the other?

Another splendid sell-out eveining with thanks to Geoffrey and his team, Trish Hammond, Helen & Steve Jones.

The Autumn Cup and some of the winners' baskets.  These baskets  were expertly put together by Mrs Louise Klopper

The Autumn Cup 2012

We were lucky to have a beautiful day on sunday March 25 for our third Autumn Cup day.
68 players gathered for a superb Buffet Breakfast provided by Rocky, Jasmine & Claire.  The field hit off at 11am.
It was a very pleasant day enjoyed by all the 38 visitors and 30 members. Visitors were from Avondale, Antill Park, Bankstown Bonnie Doon, Cronulla and two teams from Hurstville.
The Winners of The Autumn Cup were the team from Bankstown Golf Club.  They each received a basket of goodies sonsored by Chris Harvey's Mount Ashby Estate Winery, Lomondo cold pressed extra virgin Olive Oil, Barbara's Storehouse, Bowral, and a range of other boutique foods provided by David Ridge's distribution company.
We wish to extend our very special thanks to Mrs Louise Klopper whose expertise enabled us to present these baskets in a grand manner.  Everyone was very impressed.
Runnesr up were the Antill Park team and they each received a delicious side of fresh salmon provided by David & Neville Ridge.
At the end of proceedings we all joined to thank Rocky, Jasmine & Claire for their sterling efforts on the day.  We are a lucky Club to have such wonderful staff.

St Patrick's Night Dinner
A touch of the blarney, Irish jokes, music and song!

The
decor, 'Ireland' flags, green balloons, shamrocks, with the glowing embers of a fire made the room very festive indeed.
The wandering minstrel entertained us 'Irishly' with his fiddle, singing an amazing repertoire of Irish songs & jokes.  This was complemented by Ray Clayton who also had a few yarns to tell.  A lot of fun!
Thank you to organiser, Blandina Meere, who knows how to stage a St Patrick's Day Party, MC, Ray Clayton and Kate Perkins at the piano.  Kate knew every tune, in whatever key our Minstrel requested.
Delicious dinner of salmon & asparagus followed by home-made apple pie.

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen and down the mountainside
The summer's gone and the roses are falling...
